THE ARKANSAS STATE COUNCIL OF MACHINISTS - SPRING MEETING

The Arkansas State Council of Machinists came together this weekend for their annual Spring Meeting.


Speakers included:

Loren Almeroth, Assistant Political & Legislative Director, and AFL-CIO President Jessica Akers, who updated our members on the Political and Legislation information affecting everyone, as well as the importance of getting out the vote for the state of Arkansas and federal elections this fall. Parris Cellistine from the IAM Benefit Trust, IAMNPF, and the IAM401K, who made sure our members were up to date about the benefits they have and how to access those benefits.


GLR Valerie Rodriguez, GLR Juice Bruner, Woodworkers Dept. GLR Billy Barnwell, and DL W2021 DBR Chuck Bennett highlighted the importance of participating in your State Council, all the organizing efforts in Arkansas at the moment, including the Aerojet campaign in Camden, AR, and updated our members on the new NLRB procedures for petition filings.

Things to look forward to:

- Labor Management Conference in Hot Springs, AR July 31st - Aug. 2nd, 2024.

- The Cope Convention

- Machinists Wood Pulp and Paper Council Virtual BBQ - Aug. 3rd.

- Arkansas State Council of Machinists Fall Meeting of 2024.
